Mission Global

Here at Mission Global, we wanted to measure our carbon footprint, not just to be environmentally responsible, but also to deliver a better service for our clients.

The NCZ data collection process was straightforward and now we’re proud to be spreading the word with our eMission product, which helps our clients understand the emissions associated with their projects too.

Thank you to the NCZ team for supporting our journey and helping us contribute in our own way to ongoing environmental sustainability.

Overview of Mission Global

Mission Global is a logistics partner to the event and project freight industry, offering cargo solutions across all types of commodities with the most impossible deadline challenges. They offer tight schedule control, single point of contact/dedicated service provider from start to finish and strive to become an extension of your own office.

Mission Global engaged NCZ as they needed to establish a credible journey to net zero, understand where emissions originate from and where costs can be reduced. They also needed to establish a targeted approach to decarbonisation to ensure maximum success.

Phase 1

Establishing the baseline

(ISO 14064 organisational carbon footprint report)
NCZ Silver Certification. Establish complete carbon footprint to understand both emissions sources and opportunities to manage impact on the journey to net zero.
102.75 tCO2e (100%)

Scope 1

Emissions

Scope 2

Emissions

Scope 3

Emissions

Phase 2 Initial assessment and solutions (quick wins)

Using the reported baseline of emissions, we were able to immediately assess and recommend solutions that would significantly reduce carbon emissions and costs, including:

  • Engaging with the supply-chain to understand and/ or encourage them to calculate their own carbon footprint, to enable more accurate calculation in the future based on an ‘emission by revenue factor’ per supplier.
  • Encourage employees to use less emissions intensive modes of transport, including hybrid or electric vehicles, or public transport for business related travel.
  • Undertake meetings through virtual platforms where site meetings are not necessary, to reduce business travel.

Phase 3

Carbon reduction strategy

(the mid-term targets)
Once Phase 2 is complete we use the baseline footprint to map out a tailored strategy to reduce Mission Global’s carbon emissions on its journey to net zero. Throughout this process NCZ guides and facilitates the relevant expertise required from our approved supply partners directory to ensure the lowest impact of products/ services.

Mission Global have commissioned a certified carbon offset of all identified emissions in order to achieve organisational carbon neutrality. Next steps: NCZ Gold certification and full carbon management programme to deliver a carbon neutral service. Mission Global will implement a Lifecycle Assessment to model the specific emissions associated with its operations and incorporate the reporting and balancing of all identified emissions into the service delivery.
