
This is the year we get to see big climate promises turn into real, measurable action. Many of our clients spent last year getting their baselines in order, wrestling with Scope 3 (we see you, supply chains), and building their first meaningful carbon reduction plans. Now, 2026 is the year we finally get to help those plans jump off the page and into everyday operations… across teams, processes, and partnerships.
One of the things we’re most excited about is the shift in mindset we’re seeing. Sustainability is no longer the corporate equivalent of eating your vegetables. Businesses are realising it’s actually good for growth, innovation, and staying competitive (like spinach, if spinach also saved you money and made your customers proud). This year, we expect to see more organisations weaving sustainability into procurement, leadership development, financial strategy, and even how they talk to customers. The cultural shift is real, and it’s happening faster than many expected.
We’re also looking forward to helping more companies reach a verified, science-aligned certification. In 2025, we saw a surge of organisations earning NCZ Blue and Silver Awards, and a lot of them are already eyeing Gold and Platinum. It’s genuinely inspiring to work with businesses that aren’t just checking compliance boxes, they’re taking ownership of their emissions and showing their progress with confidence and transparency.

Another highlight for 2026? Teamwork. More businesses are collaborating with their suppliers, supporting partners who are earlier in their sustainability journey, and seeing decarbonisation as a shared effort rather than a solo mission. This is exactly what NCZ believes in: net zero isn’t a lonely path; it’s a group project. And for once, everyone actually wants to pull their weight.
Now, let’s be honest… urgency is still in the air. Regulations are tightening, expectations from the UK and EU are rising, and investors and clients want more detail, more accuracy, and more accountability than ever. But urgency doesn’t need to induce panic. It can be motivating. It can be empowering. And we’re here to make sure every organisation feels supported, confident, and ready for whatever comes next.
Personally, what I look forward to most in 2026 is seeing the human side of climate action… is the teams that get re-energised, the leaders who step up, and the organisations that embrace the idea that sustainability isn’t about achieving perfection, it’s about making progress, being honest, and continuously improving.
